1975
- Holden Torana L34 - ATCC - Gowan Hindhaugh
Brock does not need a factory mount
to win Bathurst. The Gown Hindhaugh L34 was a very spartan
car, and Brock struggled to get the funds to go to Bathurst.
They just had to win to even pay their bills. Guess what, they
did just that! A good set of hard Bridgestone tyres gave the
team some advantage during the race. |

1976
- BMW 3.5 Csi - Le Mans - Bill Patterson Racing
Brocky was excited about 1976 and
in particular what was happening in Europe where their Touring car
categories were booming. Ford and BMW were going for it
and Brocky wanted to put himself forward as a rising star from Aussie.
His friends at Bill Patterson were very supportive about an Aussie
making it in Europe. The BMW was a high tech purpose built weapon
of the day. BMW was getting serious and their cars looked
fantastic. Notice the start of a relationship with Bridgestone. |

1976
- Holden Torana L34 - ATCC - Team Brock
European commitments and the formation
of Team Brock meant that brother Phil had to help. Phil
drove the car very well at Lakeside. A great win at Sandown and a
third place at Bathurst meant that Brock could still give the HDT
a run for their considerable money. However, the storm clouds
for Holden were looming. What was that snake Moffat and Ford
up to???? |

1977
- Holden Torana A9X - ATCC - Team Brock/ Bill Patterson
Brock and his team had the act
together in 1977. Indeed, the A9X was a strong car with heaps
of still unrefined potential. Unfortunately for Holden &
Brock, the Moffat/Bond Ford Dealer Team simply steam rolled Holden
runners. The result was lots of third places for Brock
throughout the Championship. Pole at Bathurst did not result
in a win. That ugly Bathurst one two finish line result for Ford still
gives us open minded Holden fans nightmares. At least Brock
had the best presented car throughout the championship. A great
paint scheme! |

1977
- Vauxhall Magnum - Spa 24 Hours - VDT
Peter shared a drive with the legendary
Jerry Marshall to motor their 2.3 Litre car to second outright at
Spa 24 hour race. Indeed, the team won the very prestigious
Kings Cup (Brock also won the Kings Cup in 1996), the Manufacturers
Award and the Index of Performance against more powerful 3 litre
opposition (BMW and Capri). On the winners rostrum, the crowd was
saying, "who's this Brock bloke?", "is he English?" It was a
proud moment for Brock and Vauxhall. Photo

1978
- Holden Torana A9X - ATCC - MHDT
Bob Morris was a hard charger and
his Ron Hodson Breville team had the sponsorship dollar to match the
HDT during the late seventies. He liked nothing better than
to beat the factory, in this shot Bob does some grass cutting to try
and keep with Peter. |

1978
- Bathurst Across the line in 1978 and Brock finally puts
a A9X on the podium at Bathurst. This was surely Torana's
golden era of dominance. |

1979
- Holden Torana A9X - ATCC - MHDT
In 1979, The Brock A9X was unstoppable.
Brock described this car as the "best touring car in the world".
It had great brakes, good sized tyres and lots of power. It
would have creamed the best Europe could have put against it. |

1979
- Bathurst
In 1979, Peter Brock simply outclassed
the field on Brock Mountain. A comfortable lead was not enough
for him. He knew Moffat was a commentator for Channel 7 so he
"went for it". On the last lap he set a new race record and
the the crowd went crazy. Brock admitted that it was lonely
out front at times, this picture captures the beauty of the
mountain and demonstrates why it rates as the most demanding circuit
in the world. Johnny Rutherford stated that the decent from
the top of the mountain terrified him. And that's from a guy
who drove a inch away from a concrete wall at over 200 mph for a living. |

1979
- Holden Commodore VB - Around Australia Trial - MHDT
Brock was brilliant in the 1979
Repco Around Australia Trial. The 34year old was a somewhat
controversial pick for this rally as he was the only non rally specialist
to head up the Generals three car challenge for the trophy.
15 days and over 20,000 kilometers later Brock spearheaded an
outstanding 1,2,3 result for Holden Only 13 cars out of 164
finished at the Sydney Opera House. It was Brocks most challenging
race and remains for him, one of his most memorable achievements |
