In 1979, Peter Brock simply outclassed
the field on Brock Mountain. A comfortable lead was not enough
for him. He knew Moffat was a commentator for Channel 7 so he
"went for it". On the last lap he set a new race record and the
the crowd went crazy. Brock admitted that it was lonely out front
at times, this picture captures the beauty of the mountain and
demonstrates why it rates as the most demanding circuit in the world.
Johnny Rutherford stated that the decent from the top of the mountain
terrified him. And that's from a guy who drove a inch away from
a concrete wall at over 200 mph for a living.
